Trend Update: Birds
/(collage of bird adorned fabrics courtesy of Elle Decor) "Birds of a feather flock together" and that certainly is true this season. Birds are everywhere from accent pillows, bedding, accessories, lamps and even custom draperies. Nature has always served as a great inspiration for interior design. You will see this trend linger into spring of 2013. Coincidentally, "nesting" tables are also a top pick for interior design this year, too.
So we thought we would put these two trends together for a style update that can help you bring these fresh, hip design ideas into your own home decor. Birds are colorful, graceful and perfect for interior design. They bring a natural touch of beauty to bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, and even bathrooms and laundry areas.
But not just birds...we are also seeing bird houses and cages popping up in designer looks. From Houzz.com, this elegant living room, includes symmetrical bird prints that add interest and a pop of color to the space.
This modern eclectic study uses a bright yellow color contrasted with black and white...but throughout the room, from the wall murals to the accent pillows, notice the whimsical use of birds.
Here, bird cages are used as unique picture frames on a wall.
These golden cages are used as conversation pieces on this living room table. Their yellow color coordinates with the wing chairs and the interesting shape and design is a unique touch for this stylish living room.

Or the Sam Moore Kenly Transitional Exposed Wood Chair with Curved Wings, it will become your favorite reading chair in no time.
To go along with these accent chairs, Belfort Furniture has some great options for "nesting" tables. And to give you a "birds-eye view" on these special accent tables...here is a bit of history. The idea of nesting tables started approximately two centuries ago. English furniture designer Thomas Sheraton popularized the versatile quartetto table—a four-piece stacking set that graduated in size. The components served as movable accent tables that could be used for anything and could be easily stored.
Today, these tables are called "nesting" tables and usually come in sets of 2 or 3. The tables are different sizes and fit together like a puzzle, with one table fitting underneath or inside the other, so that when put together, they only take up the space of one table. They come in a variety of shapes and styles and are a handy addition to your living room, bedroom or anywhere you need extra versatility. They are great for entertaining and can be used anywhere in a pinch. Here are a few pictures that show how they can enhance a beautiful room while bringing an important functionality when needed. This picture from Houzz.com shows a stylish living room enhanced by some nesting tables.
Belfort furniture has a great selection of nesting tables that can work in so many rooms. Here are a few nesting tables that are on display in our showroom. The 3-Piece Nesting Chairside Table with Mosaic Tile Inlay brings an interesting look with Mosaic Tile Inlay on each nesting table top.
